Animal MRI Center
at Veterinary Care Specialists
‘An Affordable Animal MRI so that we can provide the best care for your pet’
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has become a valuable diagnostic tool in the practice of veterinary medicine. MRI is a non-invasive imaging tool that allows us to visualize areas of the body, like the brain and the spinal cord, that we have previously been unable to evaluate as thoroughly. MRI studies can also provide images that allow a better understanding of complex pathological processes involving the abdomen, joints, and nasal cavity.
At Veterinary Care Specialists we strive to provide affordable, state-of-the-art veterinary medical and surgical are. The introduction of the Animal MRI Center demonstrates our commitment to providing our referring veterinarians, our clients and their pets the very best care possible. Although MRI imaging is costly in both human and veterinary medicine, we have continued our commitment to affordable care with our outpatient MRI costing $1,200.00. This fee includes anesthesia, the MRI and interpretation of the MRI by a boarded radiologist.
Prior to anesthetizing pets for a MRI, we do require that they have had a full blood panel (chemistry profile/complete blood count) and thoracic radiographs (x-rays). Additional costs may occur if patients have not had pre-anesthetic blood testing and thoracic radiographs in the 30 days prior to the MRI or if the patient remains hospitalized for surgery or other treatments. As always, you will receive a complete estimate for any other hospital care, diagnostics or therapies prior to their being performed.
