Ultrasound Guided Biopsy

Ultrasound Guided Biopsy

Sometimes, based on both your pets ultrasound examination, your doctors evaluation of your pet, previous test results and history, an ultrasound guided biopsy may be indicated. Ultrasound guided biopsies utilize ultrasound to locate the exact spot to be biopsied allow accurate and safe placement of a biopsy needle. A special biopsy needle is placed using ultrasound guidance. This procedure is done under sedation or anesthesia. If your pet is to have an ultrasound guided biopsy they will need to remain in the hospital after the biopsy is completed.
